ALARM MONITORING DEVICES – VALVE BOX
Shut-off valves are provided to isolate a section, area or zone of hospital to avoid supply interruption to entire establishment in case of emergency, maintenance, repair, periodic testing & planned future expansion. These are installed in a Medical Gas Pipeline System (MGPS) in different configurations including vacuum. The shut off valve boxes have provision for gas specific NIST connection in addition to analog pressure gauge for testing facility, emergency supply connection or connection to Medical Gas Alarm System.
Valves and housed in a secured metallic box with open able window for protection & accessibility and permit to locate the valve box in areas readily accessible to medical personnel but restrict unauthorized tempering.
Full bore ball valves are medical oxygen compatible and used for all medical gases and complies with Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC.
The housing box is so designed that in case of emergency the locked window can be opened by applying little extra force on the lock (hard punching) which is reusable for locking again.
These isolation valves arranged horizontally for uniform viewing of 2 to 6 gas configuration and offer local gas isolation facilities (AVSU) as well as Zone Isolation Unit.
The compartmentalization is usually done during design stage of gas & Vacuum pipe network considering the future need for service, replacement, extension etc.
All tube ends of Shut off Valves are flared to felicitate insertion of connecting tube. This arrangement is to avoid but joining of the connecting tube to Shut off Valves stub ends. All stub ends are covered for dust protection
